Republican Arrested for Voter Registration Fraud
So does this mean we'll hear the GOP accuse themselves of voter registration fraud, too? Of "stealing this election"? Of "destroying the fabric of democracy" as McCain decried last week?

Highlights:
"The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario over the weekend on suspicion of voter registration fraud."
"Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department late Saturday came after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by people employed by YPM. The voters said YPM workers tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters."
"YPM has been accused of using bait-and-switch tactics across the country. Election officials and lawmakers have launched investigations into the activities of YPM workers in Florida and Massachusetts."
"The firm was paid $7 to $12 for every Californian it registered as a member of the GOP. "

Colin Powell and Soldier Kareem R. Khan
This morning, Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama and stated he would vote for him November 4th. He also lit the McCain campaign and the strategies they were using which he felt were taking the Republican party down a path he did not agree with. He stated that he's heard some Republican colleagues calling Obama a Muslim (which he is NOT) and tying him with terrorist connections, creating this fear and hate. And in my opinion, has created this overall tension which has bubbled over to racism in many instances. If you need examples, read my blog.
In Colin Powell's interview on Meet the Press, he mentioned a Muslim soldier who fought and died heroically for our country. This story reminded us that no matter your differences in color, race and gender, we are all Americans and on the battlefield when you wear the US military uniform, it's American blood that is shed. If you want to learn more about this heartbreaking story, here's a link to a NY Times article:

My favorite part of the Powell interview was this line:
“He was 14 years old at the time of 9/11, and he waited until he could go serve his country, and he gave his life,” Mr. Powell said. “Now, we have got to stop polarizing ourselves in this way.”
When I remember that ignorant McCain supporter at the townhall meeting proclaim that she was scared of Obama because he's an "Arab" it makes me sad. And video footage of McCain supporters attending McCain/Palin rallies yelling "Obama's a Muslim" it saddens me even more. Arabs, Muslims, Black, Whites, Hispanics, Straights, Guys, Women and Men are fighting and dying overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan protecting our freedom. And for these ignorant and uninformed supporters to paint Muslims as some type of scary figure is utterly disgusting and dishearteneing.
Now I know all Republicans aren't racists or ignorant, so please don't attack me and assume by my posting this, that is what I'm doing.
Thanks.

Obama's Face on a US FoodStamp...Republican Ignorance continues
Again, another example of the racial divisiveness coming from the Republican Party. This time from the Republican Women's club in San Bernardino County from my home state California. Who said California was filled with crazy tree hugging Liberals???
Here's a link to the entire story:

Here are excerpts:
"A Republican women's club in San Bernardino County sent out a recent newsletter with a photo of Barack Obama surrounded by fried chicken, watermelon and ribs, sparking widespread outrage and rebuke from GOP leaders and Democrats."
"Fedele said the mailer merely parodied the statements Obama made during a debate last summer and wasn't racist."

Ms. Fedele. Not racist? Tell that to the African-American Republican who was a member of your club who cried for 40 minutes straight when she received your newsletter in her email box.
I don't get these people? WTF was Fedele thinking when she created this newsletter? I mean really...It wasn't racist? Then why a food stamp, fried chicken, watermelon, ribs & kool-aid? Why not a Quarter, arugula salad, an apple, filet mignon and a diet pepsi? Obviously the images she used where blatant racial stereotypes for black people. Who was she kidding? Obviously, herself.
People Drinking the Terrorists Kool-Aid, but still voting for Obama...
Found this on Ben Smith's Blog on Politico.com:

"I'm just going to reprint his amazed e-mail about the focus group:
Reagan Dems and Independents. Call them blue-collar plus. Slightly more Target than Walmart.
Yes, the spot worked. Yes, they believed the charges against Obama. Yes, they actually think he's too liberal, consorts with bad people and WON'T BE A GOOD PRESIDENT...but they STILL don't give a f***. They said right out, "He won't do anything better than McCain" but they're STILL voting for Obama.
The two most unreal moments of my professional life of watching focus groups:
54 year-old white male, voted Kerry '04, Bush '00, Dole '96, hunter, NASCAR fan...hard for Obama said: "I'm gonna hate him the minute I vote for him. He's gonna be a bad president. But I won't ever vote for another god-damn Republican. I want the government to take over all of Wall Street and bankers and the car companies and Wal-Mart run this county like we used to when Reagan was President."
The next was a woman, late 50s, Democrat but strongly pro-life. Loved B. and H. Clinton, loved Bush in 2000. "Well, I don't know much about this terrorist group Barack used to be in with that Weather guy but I'm sick of paying for health insurance at work and that's why I'm supporting Barack."
I felt like I was taking crazy pills. I sat on the other side of the glass and realized...this really is the Apocalypse. The Seventh Seal is broken and its time for eight years of pure, delicious crazy...."
